Angelo Adams of Miami, Florida was arrested last week for allegedly raping a teenage girl more than two decades ago.
Adams, 55, was charged with armed sexual battery. The press did not name an attorney for him.
According to the police report, Adams is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl in August 1993. The victim told investigators that she was standing at a bus stop at the intersection of US-1 and SW 211 St. at night when Adams pulled up and asked her if she needed a ride.
The teen told Adams no, but he reportedly convinced her to enter his vehicle. He drove south to an area in Homestead and then went down a dirt road and turned off the vehicle’s lights. Adams allegedly brandished a gun and demanded that she have sex with him, the report said.
When the victim tried to get away, Adams purportedly banged her head against the window and then proceeded to rape her, the report alleges. He later drove the victim back to the bus stop where he had originally found her. He showed her his gun once again before stealing her jewelry. He then let her go and then drove away.
The victim was transported to a rape treatment center where DNA samples were collected. The DNA was entered into the FBI’s DNA database. In July last year, Miami-Dade police were informed that there was a positive match for the DNA collected 26 years ago, according to the report.
Investigators called the victim and showed her a picture of Adams and she identified him as the man who raped her.
Adams was arrested last Thursday. He denied having any knowledge of the victim.
Another sexual battery incident was reported in Pembroke Pines last month. Youth pastor Luise Clark was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl he met through his church.
Clark 38, faces numerous charges, including sexual battery of a minor and false imprisonment. He was ordered held on $660,000 bond. It is unclear if he has acquired the services of an attorney.
According to the police report, the sexual battery began in August 2016 when the victim was 15 and continued for six months until February 2017. Clarke reportedly met the teen at the now shut down Abrazo tu Sueno Church on Pines Boulevard. He was a youth pastor at the church, the report indicates.
The victim told investigators that Clarke had over 20 sexual encounters with her at his home in Pembroke Pines. He would pick her up from school and take her to his home where he would rape her. Clarke forced the victim to remain silent about the abuse by threatening to report her and her family’s illegal status to immigration.
Clarke was arrested on April 25. He allegedly admitted to having two sexual encounters with the victim, according to the report.
