Cynthia Schafer has been identified as one of the victims of a car crash at a bus stop in Hollywood, Florida. Schafer, 59, and two others suffered severe injuries after an SUV driven by an unidentified “elderly male driver” crashed into a bus stop on the 3700 block of Washington Street yesterday afternoon.

Schafer was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died from her injuries this morning. The two other victims and the vehicle’s driver were also hospitalized, but the extent of their injuries is unknown. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Another fatal car accident was reported on Thanksgiving Day. Trevor Chambers and his two-year-old daughter, Allison Chambers, were identified as the victims of a Miami car crash that occurred at 3:28 p.m. on the 2900 block of NW North River Drive.

Chambers, 36, was driving a black Mercedes-Benz with his wife Marilyn Leon and daughter on board when a Honda Civic driven by Carlos Gutierrez reportedly lost control and struck Chambers’ car, causing both vehicles to crash and burn.

Leon, 29, survived the accident and is in a critical but stable condition. Gutierrez, 50, suffered minor burns on his hands. He refused to go to the hospital and was treated at the scene of the crash. No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.

Police evidence suggests that the two cars may have been racing. Both cars were reportedly speeding before the accident occurred and a surveillance video obtained from a nearby business purportedly shows the vehicles traveling in tandem.
