Terrence Wilkins of Boynton Beach, Florida Accused of Sexually Assaulting 13-Year-Old Girl at Park

action-adult-bird-6050-300x200Terrence Devon Wilkins of Boynton Beach, Florida was arrested on Valentine’s Day for allegedly inappropriately touching a teenage girl and giving her a hickey.

Wilkins, 28, is charged with lewd or lascivious battery on a victim ages 12 to 16. He is being held without bond at Palm Beach County’s Main Detention Center. The press did not name an attorney for him.

According to the arrest affidavit, the alleged incident occurred on August 1 at a bathroom at Barton Memorial Park. The 13-year-old victim had reportedly gone to the park to smoke marijuana, but doing so caused her to feel sick. She told investigators that a man picked her up from the street and took her to a public bathroom at the park, where he tried to sexually assault her.

Police noticed a hickey on the victim’s neck and collected a DNA sample, which they sent to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office lab for testing. The DNA evidence from her neck allegedly links Wilkins to the crime, the affidavit said. The victim was also reportedly able to identify Wilkins in a photo lineup.

Wilkins was arrested at a house in Lake Worth last Thursday.

Another incident of sexual assault involving an adult and underage victims was reported in Hollywood last week. Colin Edward McLean was arrested on Feb. 6 for allegedly molesting a 3-month-old baby girl and a 7-year-old girl.

McLean is being charged with sexual assault on a minor and lewd and lascivious molestation on a minor. He was ordered held without bond. It is unclear if he has acquired the services of an attorney.

According to the arrest report, an unidentified woman reported the alleged molestation to investigators in January. She told police that the 7-year-old victim stayed at McLean’s home for a night in January because a family member was hospitalized.

The woman reportedly told investigators that she later found over 30 pictures of child pornography on McLean’s phone, including a video of him touching the 7-year-old girl’s vagina. Police executed a search warrant for McLean’s phone and allegedly found the files the woman described as well as several photos of a 3-month-old baby girl being molested.

It is unclear how McLean is related to the victims.

The age of consent in Florida is 18. Minors aged 16 to 17 can give consent to a partner who is no older than 23 years old, but it is a felony for adults over 24 to engage with sexual activity with minors.

Swedish Sportscaster Bo Gunnar Hansson Accused of Gropping Teenage Boys in Coral Springs, Florida

action-child-children-79990-300x200Retired Swedish sportscaster Bo Gunnar Hansson was arrested for allegedly groping a teenage boy at a public park in Coral Springs and pursuing two other teens in a park in Margate.

Hansson, 85, is charged with lewd or lascivious molestation on a minor. He is being held in Broward’s Main Jail on $100,000 bond. He was deemed a flight risk because he had already purchased a return ticket to Sweden and was ordered to surrender his passport. The press did not name an attorney for him.

According to the arrest report, the incidents occurred Fern Glen Park in Coral springs and an unnamed public park in Margate.

The Coral Springs incident occurred on January 3. Hansson reportedly tried to “assist” a 13-year-old boy who was using monkey bars and moved his hands up the teen’s pants to get closer to his “private” parts. The teen became uncomfortable and moved to a sit-up bench. Hansson allegedly followed him and held his feet down for him. He again move his hands up the boy’s legs and this time groped him in the groin area.

The teen got up and ran away, the report said. He told investigators that he didn’t know Hansson and that this was the first time they had interacted, but he had seen him in the park on several occasions.

The Margate incident occurred the next day. Police say Hansson approached two boys at the park and started asking them about their fitness routines. He then attempted to grab one of the boy’s shirts and asked to “see his muscles,” the report said. One of the teens pushed his hand away and called the police.

When interviewed by police, Hansson reportedly admitted to having contact with the teens, but he denied doing anything inappropriate.

Hansson is reportedly a well-known TV personality in Sweden, where he worked as a sports journalist and commentator covering several big sporting events, including Worlds Cups and the Olympics. News sources say he travels to Florida from Sweden for about a month every year.

Another incident of lewd and lascivious molestation of a minor by an adult was reported in Doral last week. Taekwondo instructor Sebastian Hanul Choi was arrested on January 8 for allegedly forcing a female student to perform oral sex on him.

Choi, 22, faces charges of sexual battery on a minor and lewd and lascivious molestation on a child. He is being held without bond. It is unclear if he has acquired the services of an attorney.

According to the arrest report, the student was molested three years ago when she was 10 years old at Team Taekwondo in Doral, Florida. Choi, who 19 at the time, was her instructor and PE teacher. The victim told her parents she was repeatedly molested by Choi in 2015. He reportedly forced her to touch his genitals and perform oral sex on him.

Following his arrest, Choi has been suspended from USA Taekwondo and is ineligible or any USA Taekwondo-related activities pending the outcome of the investigation.

Juan Carlos Gonzalez of Miami, Florida Accused of Molesting 7-Year-Old Girl in Supermarket

bananas-fruits-grocery-4621-300x200Juan Carlos Gonzalez of Miami, Florida was arrested on Friday for allegedly fondling a 7-year-old girl at a Miami grocery store.

Gonzalez, 59, is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under the age of 12 and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The press did not name an attorney for him.

According to the arrest report, the alleged incident occurred on Friday after at a Sedano’s supermarket on Flagler Street. Gonzalez reportedly stood behind a 7-year-old girl in the checkout line and fondled her vagina and buttocks over her dress.

The girl told her father about what happened when they were about to exit the store. The father informed the store manager and asked to see footage from the store’s surveillance cameras. The footage reportedly showed Gonzalez repeatedly touching the 7-year-old girl.

“Video surveillance at the incident location clearly showed [Gonzalez] intentionally touching and grabbing the victim’s buttocks and genital area several times,” the report said.

When the girl’s father confronted Gonzalez, he allegedly tried to leave, but the father managed to restrain him. Gonzalez pulled out a pocket knife and threatened in Spanish to stab the father, the report said.

Gonzalez was eventually arrested and taken into custody. He was hospitalized after his arrest for unclear reasons and didn’t appear in bond court.

Another sex incident involving an adult and minor was reported in Miami-Dade last week. High school teacher Diego Guzman Carranza was arrested on January 4 for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student.

Carranza, 30, is charged with one count of lewd and lascivious act on a victim between 12 and 16. He was ordered held on $50,000 bond. Reports say Carranza taught biology at Dr. Michael Krop High School.

According to the police report, authorities learned about the 14-year-old student’s alleged relationship with Carranza from her older sister, who called the police to report that the student had gone to an Airbnb with her teacher.

Police who arrived at the Airbnb said Carranza answered the door shirtless and was surprised to learn about the age of his student, the report said. The teen was found inside the room. When questioned by police, she reportedly told the officers that she had just had sex with Carranza and that they were in an ongoing sexual relationship. The girl also told police that she had spoken to Carranza about the illegality of their relationship due to their ages, the report said.

News sources report that Carranza has been a teacher with Miami-Dade Schools for less than two years. A Miami-Dade Schools official told the press that they were in the process of terminating his employment.

Music Teacher Terrence Dwarika of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida Accused of Molesting Student

Terrence-Dwarika-213x300Terrence Dwarika of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida was arrested for allegedly molesting one of his students, a boy younger than 12 years old. Dwarika, 38, taught music at the Trinity Christian School in Palm Beach Gardens and was a pianist for the Trinity United Methodist Church (UMC).

He is charged with one count of molesting a child younger than 12 years old and is being held without bail at Palm Beach County Jail. In bond court last Monday, a judge ordered him not to have any contact with the alleged victim, his family, or any minors. The press did not name an attorney for Dwarika.

According to the arrest report, the alleged molestation occurred on December 26, 2017 at Dwarika’s home. Dwarika allegedly asked the mother of two his male students for permission to take them Christmas shopping at a local mall. The mother gave her consent, the report said.

When the mother asked her children about their day, one of the boys reportedly told her that they went to Dwarika’s home. The mother told police that she did not give the teacher permission to take her children to his house.

The boys told their mother that they were separated at the house. One brother was left alone in the living room, and the other was taken to Dwarika’s bedroom, the report said. The brother who was in the living room reportedly went into the bedroom and saw the teacher on the bed with the other boy. The report does not make it clear if the child saw his brother kissing the teacher or if the teacher kissed him.

He told Dwarika that their mother would not be happy about what was going on, and the teacher told him that they “should keep it a secret,” the report said. The mother asked them if it had happened before, and they reportedly told her there was one other incident, but it is unclear if it was at the teacher’s home or at school.

The mother reported the incident to the police the following day. She told investigators that her children took private music lessons with Dwarika after school and that the teacher had known her boys in other capacities for several years.

When the children were questioned by police, they reportedly told them that there were several incidents at different locations. It is unclear if the teacher molested both of them. The arrest report indicated that he is being accused of molesting only one of the boys at the moment, but he may be charged with additional counts if there are other alleged attacks.

Dwarika received a B.A. in piano performance with a minor in violin and flute at Palm Beach Atlantic University. It is unclear how long he has worked for the church, but he taught at Baldwin-Peck Prep School in 2005. He does not have a criminal record.

Gretchen Hastings, director of communications of the Florida Conference UMC, released the following statement:

“Terrence Dwarika, Trinity UMC’s pianist and artist in residence, was arrested Sunday for lewd and lascivious conduct and molesting a minor less than 12 years old. We will fully cooperate with the police in this investigation. Trinity UMC considers nothing more sacred than the safety, protection and care of our children. We have a comprehensive Child and Youth Protection policy in place, and we strive to adhere to those guidelines.”
