Miami Preacher Yunior Beltres Accused of Molesting Two Underage Girls

architecture-blue-sky-church-1343325-300x200Miami preacher Yunior Beltres was arrested Friday for allegedly raping two underage girls, ages 9 and 10, and forcing them to watch each other’s assault.

Beltres, 54, was charged with two counts of sexual battery on a minor. He turned himself into authorities Thursday and is being held without bond at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. It is unclear if he has acquired the services of an attorney.

According to Miami-Dade police, the victims, whose relationship to Beltres has not been disclosed, reported the alleged sexual abuse on July 1. They told police that Beltres raped them in May and June at his home in the 300 block of NE 118th Terrace in Miami.

The 10-year-old victim told investigators that the preacher raped her several times in May in front of the younger victim. She also told police that Beltres forced her to perform oral sex on him.

The 9-year-old victim shared a similar story and told police that Beltres raped her several times in June, in front of the older victim. She told detectives that the 54-year-old preacher also touched her breasts with his hands and mouth.

Records show that Beltres is a preacher at Evangelistic Ministry of Columns of Fire, located at 2052 NW 22nd Ct. He has reportedly been affiliated with the church since at least 1996.

Cases of alleged sexual assault involving preachers and minors aren’t uncommon in South Florida. In April, youth pastor Luis Clarke was taken into custody for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl.

Clarke, 38, was charged with over two dozen felony counts, including false imprisonment and sexual battery of a minor. He was ordered held on $660,000. Attorney information wasn’t available at the time.

According to the police report, Clarke is accused of sexually assaulting the alleged victim starting from August 2016, when the victim was 15 years old. The abuse continued for over six months until February 2017.

Investigators said Clarke met the victim at his church in Pembroke Pines, where he worked as a youth pastor. The church was reportedly shut down in 2018.

Clarke had around two dozen sexual encounters with the victim at his home in the 1300 block of NW 143rd Ave. The victim told detectives that the youth pastor picked her up from school and took her to his home, where he would rape her. She also said Clarke took pictures of her in the nude.

The victim told police that Clarke coerced her into keeping their encounters secret by threatening to report her family’s illegal status to immigration.

After his arrest, Clarke reportedly admitted to having two encounters with the victim. Police believe there may be other victims. They are asking any parent or guardian whose child might have come into contact with Clarke at his church to speak with them regarding his alleged behavior.

Special Needs Nurse Jermaine Cheatham of Miami-Dade County, Florida Accused of Raping 9-Year-Old Girl

appointment-book-blur-care-40568-300x200In-home nurse Jermaine Cheatham was arrested Monday after he was allegedly found raping a 9-year-old girl.

Cheatham, 45, was charged with sexual battery on a minor and false imprisonment of a child under the age of 13. He is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The press did not name an attorney for him.

According to the Miami-Dade police report, Cheatham was hired by the victim’s mother to care for the victim and her 3-year-old sister, who is a special needs patient and requires round-the-clock care.

The 9-year-old victim was reportedly watching a movie and fell asleep in the living room. Cheatham walked into the room, took off her pants, covered her mouth with one hand and then raped her, the report indicates.

The victim’s 11-year-old brother was in his room when he heard “loud thumping sounds.” When he came out to see what was going on, he reportedly saw Cheatham naked and holding a bottle of lubricant while his sister was laying half-naked. The brother yelled at Cheatham and asked what he was doing to his sister.

Cheatham reportedly pulled the boy into the bedroom of his youngest sister, who was asleep at the time, according to the report. He begged the boy not to tell anyone about what he saw and tried to convince him that he didn’t do anything to hurt his sister.

When the 11-year-old tried to leave to tell his mother, Cheatham allegedly blocked the door and didn’t let him leave, investigators said. It is unclear who called the police.

After his arrest, Cheatham denied doing anything to the 9-year-old girl.

Sexual battery incidents involving medical professionals and patients aren’t uncommon in South Florida. Just six weeks ago, a mental health technician at Mount Sinai Medical Center was arrested and charged with sexual battery after he molested a patient.

Christian Vidal, 42, of Miami is accused of kissing the victim’s breast and then licking his fingers before touching her vagina. The victim reported the alleged incident immediately after it happened. She was taken to a rape treatment center where rape kit evidence was collected.

When questioned by investigators, Vidal denied the allegations and said he went to the victim’s room to give her the TV remote. He reportedly consented to providing a DNA sample. The sample he provided matched the evidence collected from the victim, and that led to Vidal’s arrest on May 22.

The victim’s identity has been withheld due to the nature of the crime. It is unclear if she will take legal action against Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Sexual battery is one of the most aggressively prosecuted crimes in Florida and it has harsh penalties. The penalties of a conviction are determined by the age of the victim, the age of the offender, or the presence of aggravating circumstances.

Robert Quincey Grant of Coconut Creek, Florida Accused of Molesting Student at Coral Springs Middle School

Robert-Quincy-Jones-300x169Robert Quincey Grant of Coconut Creek, Florida is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage student at a school where he worked as a custodian.

Grant, 27, was arrested Tuesday and faces multiple counts of sexual battery of a minor and lewd and lascivious molestation on a minor. He is being held without bond. It is unclear if he has hired an attorney.

According to the police report, the alleged sexual assault took place last Saturday night at Coral Springs Middle School, 10300 Wiles Road. Grant, who was a mentor to the teen, reportedly picked the boy up at his home and drove him to the school to help him with his algebra homework. As school custodian, Grant had keys that gave him access to the school grounds.

Grant led the boy to the school gym after they finished his homework. He instructed the teen to lay down so he could stretch his hamstrings, even though the teen didn’t ask to be stretched. Grant then pulled down the boy’s shorts and underwear and performed oral sex on him, the report said.

The boy told police that he “froze” in fear and didn’t say anything because he didn’t know what Grant would do next and he was afraid of being kidnapped. He told detectives that Grant’s inappropriate behavior began months ago. The older man allegedly checked on an injury the teen received in the groin region over the summer multiple times. He placed his hands inside the victim’s pants on at least 10 occasions and groped his testicles for a few seconds each time, the boy said.

“Here this person took advantage of the juvenile who had trusted him—trusted him as a coach, as a mentor. It’s very unfortunate,” said Sgt. Carl Kmiotek of the Coral Springs Police Department in a statement.

Surveillance footage from the school confirms that Grant and the victim were alone at the school between 6:21 p.m. and 9:24 p.m. on October 14. When questioned by investigators about the assault, Grant admitted to being alone with the victim at the school over the weekend, but denied the sexual allegations.

“I was surprised, because I know the man and I’ve talked to him before and I’ve seen him with the kids, and he’s always been very nice to them,” parent Wendy Shepard told Local 10 News.

Records from the Broward County Public School District show that Grant has worked at the school since 2010. In addition to his work as a custodian, he was also an assistant coach for various sports at the school. School officials said he has been reassigned to work away from students.

Javier Ramos Sanchez of West Palm Beach, Florida Arrested for Sexually Assaulting 5-Year-Old

Javier-Ramos-Sanchez-224x300Javier Ramos Sanchez of West Palm Beach, Florida was arrested on Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 5-year-old child he babysat a year ago. His relationship with the child is unclear.

Sanchez, 27, is being charged with sexual battery on a victim younger than 12 years of age. He is being held without bond at Palm Beach County Jail. The press did not name an attorney for him.

According to the arrest report, police learned about the alleged assault on August 7 after the victim, who is now 6 years old, told a parent about the assault. The 6-year-old could not say exactly when the sexual assault occurred. Sanchez was reportedly the victim’s babysitter when the child was 5 years old, and that is when the attack is believed to have occurred.

When questioned by investigators, Sanchez allegedly admitted to touching himself inappropriately in front of the victim. He also admitted to “allowing” the victim to perform a sex act. Under Florida statutes, the age of consent is 18 and no one under 16 can give consent.

This is the second case of sexual assault involving an adult and a child reported in West Palm Beach this week. Leonard White of West Palm Beach, Florida was arrested last week for allegedly exposing himself to a napping 4-year-old at a Jupiter school.

Leonard-White-223x300White, 34, faces one charge of lewd and lascivious behavior on a victim under 12 years of age. He was taken to Palm Beach County Jail and was released on $15,000 bond. A judge ordered him not to have any contact with anyone under 18. It is unclear if he has acquired the services of an attorney.

According to the police report, the alleged incident took place during the first week July at a school in Jupiter. The name and location of the school were redacted in the report. White allegedly tickled the child under her shirt during nap time, showed her his penis, and walked away.

The 4-year-old reportedly told police on July 12 that “Mr. Leonard” did not touch her anywhere else. She said she has her own area in the classroom behind a shelf for napping and that the teacher was on the other side of the room, according to the report.

Footage from the classroom’s surveillance camera shows White walking back and forth past the victim, and then bending down and reaching with one arm over the victim. It appears White touched the victim, but a decoration hanging from the ceiling obstructs the shot and makes it impossible to conclusively determine if he exposed himself.

The school’s director allegedly questioned White about the incident, but he denied the allegation and said he knelt down to pick something up from the shelf and “adjusted his pants.” White changed his story when he spoke to detectives at the Jupiter Police Department two weeks later. He admitted he pulled out his penis and exposed himself in front of the victim, the report states.

The report lists White as a chef at the school. The school’s director has reportedly told him not to come back to the school while the investigation continues.
