Randall Konsker, the owner and principal of Matlock Academy in suburban West Palm Beach, was arrested on Thursday for engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a 15-year-old student.
Konsker, 53, of Wellington is charged with 10 counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and two counts of lewd or lascivious battery. He is being held without bail at the Palm Beach County Jail.
According to the arrest report, the alleged incidents started a few months after the victim enrolled as a student at Matlock in 2015. The teen, who is now 19, told investigators that Konsker started sending her “flirty” text messages.
The exchanges “escalated” and become more explicit in the ensuing months. The teen eventually agreed to perform sex acts on Konsker, who touched her sexually when he gave her rides home. Konsker reportedly had the victim perform oral sex on him in his vehicle on five or more occasions. He penetrated her with his fingers at least five times.
The sexual activity, along with the text messages, continued for over a year and a half starting from the 10th grade through the 11th grade. Konsker purportedly asked the teen to send him nude pictures of herself and he sent her pictures of his penis.
The teen told investigators that her relationship with Konsker started “feeling really wrong and disgusting.” She eventually stopped going to school and did her required classwork online.
Konsker reached out to the teen in November 2018 and told her that they “should meet up and have coffee,” the report said. The 19-year-old victim told her mother and got law enforcement involved. Detectives looked over the texts the pair had exchanged and directed her to continue engaging Konsker via texts.
Transcripts of several passages of the texts are included in the affidavit. In one exchange from December 12, Konsker references their previous sexual relationship and tells the victim that he could “use a little taste . . . something to remember what things were like.”
In another exchange from December 14, Konsker appeared worried when the teen didn’t immediately respond to his messages. After the victim assuaged his worries, Konsker replied, “OK. Thought the police were going to show up and take me away,” the affidavit said.
Sources say Konsker is married and has two teenage sons. He has reportedly been at Matlock since June 2007. Before that he was dean of academic affairs and eventually vice president at Southeastern College (formerly Keiser Career College) for two years.
