Warren Seckler of Boca Raton, Florida was arrested on March 28 after he allegedly traveled to a McDonald’s to meet with a parent and her 14-year-old daughter for sex, police said.
Seckler, 64, faces charges of using a computer to lure a child and traveling to meet a child. He is being held at Palm Beach County main jail on $53,000 bond. The press did not name an attorney for him.
According to the probable cause affidavit, an undercover detective working with the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children task force saw a Craiglist ad titled “Daddy’s little girl” on March 18. The ad indicated that the poster was a 62-year-old man seeking a young girl for sex.
The detective responded to the ad and asked the poster if he was interested in someone underage. The poster replied in the negative, saying “that would be illegal.” Less than an hour later the man replied again saying he “might be interested” and urged the detective to “tell [him] about it.” The detective described her daughter as a skinny blonde blue-eyed 14-year-old.
The man eventually sent the detective his phone number so she could send him pictures of the girl. He also sent the detective pictures of his home to prove to her that his home was safe.
They agreed to meet at a McDonald’s on Linton Road in Delray Beach, where the man, who was identified as Seckler, was taken into custody. He reportedly confessed to posting the ad on Craiglist and making plans to meet with the detective and her teenage daughter.
Another sex case involving an adult male and teenage girl was reported in Polk County on March 29. 23-year-old Jonathan Diaz Fundora of Miami was arrested on March 27 for allegedly grooming and manipulating a 10-year-old girl into having sex with him.
Fundora is being charged with sexual battery, kidnapping, traveling to meet a minor, possession of child pornography, using a computer to seduce a child, and directing the sexual performance of a child. Investigators believe he will face more charges once they complete a forensic analysis of his electronic devices.
Fundora allegedly met the victim through an online app about two months ago and ended up chatting with her through text and Facebook. Investigators said he made the victim send him pictures and videos performing sex acts.
Before his arrest, he took time off work and arranged to pick up the victim near her home. The girl reportedly left a note for her parent saying she was staying with a friend for the next few days. The parent immediately called 911 upon finding the note and realizing the girl was gone.
Police used pictures of Fundora’s car they found on his Facebook profile to track him down at a motel in Lakeland less than an hour after the parent made the 911 call. He was placed under arrest. The girl was found hiding in the bathroom of the motel room, wearing a dog collar.
